You must try out Kumaris at least once in your life. Modern Indian food with a beautiful presentation and a trendy atmosphere. Go for the giant Vulkkan Samoosa, the Shrimp Biryani or Hyderabadi Biryani and end of your meal with their delicious Umali Cheesecake for dessert.

BAYLEAF

Serving up rich and authentic Indian dishes in Al Raya mall in Juffair. Everything on the menu is to die for, especially the Paneer Makhani, the popular Husainabadi Gosht, the Murgh Fatimi or basically anything from the biryani menu. Prices are very fair for the amount of food and quality is perfect every time.

AL OSRA

You must go to Al Osra at least once while in Bahrain for an authentic local experience. Located in Manama right by Bab al Bahrain, it is one of the oldest Indian restaurants on the Island, opened in 1989. Their Tandoori chicken is something you need to try as well as anything from their large menu that also includes Chinese dishes, pastas, burgers, and just about anything else. Prices are great value for what you’re getting. Just be prepared to spend time looking for parking as it is a very busy area.
Open daily 10 am to 12 am and delivery is available through Talabat.

MUMBAI SPICES

With a few locations and a huge menu, this is a popular eats on the island. They’re a fusion of street food and traditional cuisine of Bombay and covers flavours from regions all over India. With very affordable prices and perfectly spiced meals, you can’t go wrong with Mumbai Spices. Get the classic Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Prawn Mustard Roast, the Lucknowi Papdi Chaat or any Paratha or Tandoor dish. Many vegetarian options are also available.

Popular local spot with locations in Juffair and Seef. The hip decor and bright ambiance gives this place a fun contemporary look. Show Shha offers superb flavors and high quality traditional Indian dishes in a modern space. Prices won’t break the bank, being able to feed the entire family in under 5-6 BD. The service is very friendly, courteous and fast.

LANTERNS

Hands down one of the most popular and delicious Indian restaurants in Bahrain. With 5 locations across Budaiya, Adliya, Juffair, Amwaj, and Riffa, each branch has its own unique ambiance. The traditional settings offer a scope into Indian decor and the vibe is very social and fun. Grab a few drinks, watch the game, enjoy the signature buffet or simply a wonderful meal that’ll have you coming back for more. They have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well as appetizers, curries, noodles, and rice dishes.

THE M RESTAURANT

This place is relatively new but is a great hit with the locals in the area. Located in Adliya, this is the spot offers a fresh and tasty multi-cuisine experience including fine dining, street food, and coffee. Modern ambiance with lots of artwork on the walls. You can enjoy a breakfast buffet on the weekend for only 4 BD.
Available for delivery on Talabat and Carriage and open daily 8 am – 4 pm and 5 pm – 12 am.

CHARCOAL GRILL

Located in the hustle and bustle of Bab al Bahrain is this hidden gem known for Indian cuisine among Arabic and Chinese dishes as well. There’s also an Um al Hassan Avenue location. The food is so affordable and delicious, and service is quick. The portions are a good size as well. Most people order for take-out or delivery through Talabat although there is a dine-in option that is great for watching the busy area in its livelihood. Try the delicious Dal Makhani, the Prawns Masala, or the Malai Kofta but don’t be afraid to try out just about anything from their intensive menu.
Open daily from 10:30 am – 11:45 pm.

NATTINPURAM

A hidden gem in the region but is one of the best south Indian cuisine experiences in Bahrain. Indulge in authentic Kerala/thali meals in a traditional island vibe setting. If you’re looking for something quite inexpensive but very tasty, check out Nattinpuram at the Baisan International Hotel in Hoora. Very popular on the island for Sadhya meals and they have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Open daily from 12 pm – 12 am.

DESI SWAG

This very affordable and trendy spot has a little dine-in area but is mostly a take-out style restaurant. They serve recipes from northern and southern India that are delicious and satisfying and prices are incredible for the quality and quantity with everything being in the range of 0.100 fils to 1.2 bd max. Try their Mutton or chicken Kebab with some freshly baked naan bread, they’re wonderful and the Chicken biryani and egg kofta is to die for.
