The British School of Bahrain (BSB) has been named British International School of the Year 2026 at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards, recognizing its approach to education, student wellbeing and community involvement.

The award ceremony took place in London on October 13, with the school’s Executive Headteacher, Liz Stanley, attending on behalf of the school community. BSB was selected from six finalists in the category and was the only school representing Bahrain and the wider Middle East.
One of the key achievements highlighted in the school’s award submission was a fundraising campaign held to mark its 30th anniversary. In partnership with UNICEF, students, staff, parents and the wider school community raised US$86,000, enough to help provide education for 10,000 disadvantaged children.
The school also focuses on students’ academic progress, personal development and wellbeing through its Support360 pastoral care approach, which aims to help students build confidence, independence and resilience.
The ninth annual Independent Schools of the Year Awards celebrate achievements across the education sector, with more than 1,000 nominations submitted for the 2026 awards.
