May Calamawy is one of Hollywood’s rising stars! The Ramy star is winning hearts again, but this time as Layla El Faouly in Marvel’s Moon Knight!!
May was born on the island and finished high school here. She was also raised in Houston and Doha.
27-year-old May is fluent in both Arabic and English. Apparently, she bagged her audition for Moon Knight through Instagram! In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, she recalled that the director Mohamed Diab’s wife messaged her about the show on Instagram; and she booked an audition shortly after that!
