Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has launched a new virtual genetic counseling clinic, making it easier for people to access specialised medical consultations remotely.
The service is part of the government’s efforts to improve healthcare services and make them faster and more accessible. It allows patients to receive genetic counseling without necessarily attending an in-person appointment.
The new service cuts the completion time from six months to just five days, reduces the required documents by 50% and simplifies the process to a maximum of four steps.
Genetic counseling helps people understand how inherited conditions may affect their health or their families, including potential genetic risks when planning for children.
