Major Growth! Bahrain Saw a 124% Salary Increase in the Private Sector since 2005

Bahrain has witnessed a massive jump in private sector wages over the years! Between 2005 and 2024, salaries for Bahrainis in the private sector soared by 124%, going from an average of BHD 381 to BHD 853. The numbers show a steady rise, especially in recent years. From 2017 to 2020, wages climbed from BHD 710 to BHD 757, marking a 6.6% increase. The momentum didn’t stop there! Between 2021 and 2024, salaries saw an even bigger jump, rising by 12.7% from BHD 757 to BHD 853. This wage growth aligns with Bahrain’s efforts to boost economic opportunities for citizens. As part of the country’s 2025-2026 budget, the government is focusing on providing more promising job prospects, improving public services, and ensuring a better standard of living. With these steady increases, Bahrain’s workforce is seeing more competitive wages, contributing to stronger economic growth and stability.
