Update! Thai Nationals Now Need Visas to Enter Bahrain

Important news for Thai citizens planning trips to Bahrain: they no longer enjoy visa-free entry. Announced today, a new decision (No. 18 of 2024) issued by the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, cancels the previous visa exemption for Thai nationals.

This means that as of immediately, Thai citizens will need to apply for a visa before traveling to Bahrain. The decision aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to update its visa policies and ensure security for all residents and citizens.

While no specific reason was given for the change, it’s important to remember that visa policies can fluctuate for various reasons. Always double-check entry requirements before booking any trip.

What does this mean for you?

If you’re a Thai citizen planning a trip to Bahrain, you’ll need to apply for the appropriate visa before your departure. The process details and types of visas available can be found on the Bahraini Ministry of Interior website or by contacting their Public Relations department at +973 17394444.
