Bahrain’s Gold Sales Reached BD72 Million in the First Half of 2023!

All that glitters is gold in Bahrain!

Guess what’s shining in Bahrain? Gold sales are! Hitting around BD72 million from January to June 2023! That’s a glittery jump compared to BD59 million in 2022, BD50 million in 2021, and BD34 million in 2020.

Tourists and visitors brought some serious bling, racking up BD39 million – that’s a cool 54% of all gold and jewelry store sales. But hold on, Bahrainis and residents aren’t far behind, adding BD33 million of golden glam, making up 46% of the total dazzle.

Looks like March was the golden month with BD14 million in sparkly sales. Can you guess why? It’s Mother’s Day, where the world showers love to moms, and in Bahrain, that means lots of gold and jewelry gifts.
April wasn’t slacking either, shining bright with BD12.40 million in sales. That’s thanks to the ‘Golden Gold’ Festival’s second edition, attracting shoppers from 61 different countries, a 257% increase from the previous year.

Picture this: 416 stores joined the festival – that’s a 105% jump from the first edition! They lit up Al Manama Market with weekly promos and fab draws, making sure everyone left with a smile and maybe even some bling. With 5 weekly draws and 62 dazzling prizes, including two brand-new cars, this festival was all about making wishes come true.

Bahrain’s gold scene is truly shining!
