He stayed there to learn the process of that dish, came back to Bahrain and remade that delicacy by adding Bahraini ingredients like cardamom, Bahraini spices, nuts, rose water etc. Back in 1850s, he would sell it from his house and shops and thanks to him, we now have scrumptious varieties of Hawla to savor.

2. During the pearl diving era, the merchants and divers would take this special halwa along with kuboos for breakfast to give them energy throughout the day. This tradition is still alive and living in the heart of every local.

 2. خلال معاصرة عصر الغوص للؤلؤ، كان التجار والغواصين يأخذون الحلوى مع الخبز على الإفطار لمنحهم الطاقة طوال اليوم. هذا التقليد لا زال حيا ويعيش في قلب كل بحريني.
