The National Bank of Bahrain Won This Year’s Award For ‘The Middle East’s Best Bank Transformation’

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) was recognized by the Euromoney financial publication and won the award for Middle East’s Best Bank Transformation as well for Bahrain’s Best Bank award for the second consecutive year.

A proud moment for Bahrain!

NBB is the Kingdom’s first locally-owned bank, having opened up in 1957

Since its inception in the kingdom, the bank has grown immensely and has branches and ATMs all over the country.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2020 annually recognizes financial institutions around the world.

In a statement regarding the award, Virginia Furness from Euromoney says:

“This award recognizes NBB’s radical transformation programme, which is already delivering impressive results. Digital has been at the heart of the bank’s strategy, becoming the first bank in MENA to roll out Open Banking Solutions. It has invested in areas such as IT, internal processes, risk management structures, and is raising the compliance function to international standards. Underpinning it all is the contribution made by the bank’s people.”
