The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) kicked off another exciting round of national racing today, with the cream of the local talent competing head-to-head in race cars made inside the kingdom. Headlining the first round of National Race Day will be 2021/2022 BIC 2,000cc Challenge –the region’s longest-running and hugely popular circuit racing championship.
This series first hit the tarmac at ‘The Home of Motorsport in the East’ as part of the 2007/2008 season. Although the Challenge follows simple rules, it is highly competitive and extremely fun to watch. They race in a wide variety of two-liter cars with a variety of engines, and they are divided into two classes – the Pro and the Novice.
This weekend’s action will be held along BIC’s 2.550-kilometer Inner Track as a night event under the circuit’s state-of-the-art floodlights.
In the lead will be defending champion Raed Raffii, who will be back in his Honda S2000 challenger in his title defense. Raffii took the chequered flag in eight of the 14 races last year while appearing on the podium six more times. Raed Himmo is competing in the Pro class alongside former champion Shaikh Salman bin Isa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa (Honda Civic), and Majed Himmo is taking part in the Dream Car class in his Honda S2000.
Set to hit the tarmac in the Novice class are Giovanni Salerno (Ford Focus), Andreas Buelow (Honda Civic), Wiebke Buelow (Honda Civic), Ali Al Mansoori (Honda Civic), Andrew Ray (Honda Integra DC2), and Moazz Elzahrawi (Honda Civic EK).

موسم السباق في قمة الذروة في حلبة البحرين الدولية و حدنا متحمسين!
بدأت حلبة البحرين الدولية (BIC) جولة أخرى مثيرة من السباقات الوطنية اليوم، حيث تتنافس المواهب المحلية وجهاً لوجه في سباق السيارات المصنوعة داخل البحرين. ستتصدر الجولة الأولى من يوم السباق الوطني تحدي 2021/2022 BIC 2000cc – بطولة سباقات الحلبة الأطول والأكثر شهرة في المنطقة.
هذه السلسلة حدثت لأول مرة على مدرج المطار في “موطن رياضة السيارات في الشرق” كجزء من موسم 2007/2008. على الرغم من أن التحدي يتبع قواعد بسيطة، إلا أن مشاهدته شديدة التنافس وممتعة للغاية. يتسابقون في مجموعة متنوعة من السيارات سعة 2 لتر مع مجموعة متنوعة من المحركات، وينقسمون إلى فئتين – Pro و the Novice.

من المقرر أن يضرب المدرج في فئة المبتدئين جيوفاني ساليرنو (فورد فوكس)، أندرياس بويلو (هوندا سيفيك)، ويبك بويلو (هوندا سيفيك)، علي المنصوري (هوندا سيفيك)، أندرو راي (هوندا إنتيجرا دي سي 2)، ومعز الزهراوي (هوندا سيفيك ئي كيه).
