Treasures of the past for antiques (ARADOS) is a Bahraini auction house that opened up in 2012 and has since become the leading currency auction house in the Gulf. On July 1st, they’re going to be auctioning some historic gold dinars that date all the way back to the Crusade era, when the Islamic-Christian conflict was rising.
The two coins were influenced by the Fatimid Quarter Dinar, as well as the strike of Sicily – and they’re both smaller than the current day 100 fils BD coin. One of the coins even has an inscription bearing both Christian and Islamic scripts – making the entire coin a throwback in itself to some seriously ancient days – back in the 1100s!

عملات ذهبية تاريخية بدأت تعرض للبيع في دار مزادات البحرين
كنوز الماضي للتحف (ARADOS) هي دار مزادات بحرينية افتتحت في عام 2012 وأصبحت منذ ذلك الحين دار مزادات العملات الرائدة في الخليج. وفي الأول من يوليو، سيقومون بمزاد لعرض بعض الدنانير الذهبية التاريخية التي تعود إلى العصر الصليبي، عندما كان الصراع الإسلامي المسيحي في تصاعد.
وقد تأثرت العملتان العمليتان بدينار الربع الفاطمي عند وقوع ضربة سيسلي – وكلاهما أصغر من عملة اليوم 100 فلس بحريني. بل إن إحدى العملات النقدية تحمل سجلاً يحمل كتابات مسيحية وإسلامية على حد سواء – مما يجعل العملة كاملة رمية في حد ذاتها إلى بعض الأيام القديمة الجادة – تعود إلى القرن الحادي عشر.
