Good news! It was announced by the World Health Organization last night that 120M COVID-19 rapid tests will be rolled out globally for over a period of 6 months.
The results of the tests come out in 15-30 minutes rather than hours or days and can benefit countries who are under-resourced of lab facilities or trained medical workers to implement PCR tests. They also come with an affordable price tag, $5 (BHD 2) per test and are easier to administer.
The tests to be given to low and mid-income countries to meet the huge need for testing worldwide
