We’ve been there. That’s why we’ve rounded up 9 awesome spots to check out that double as chill places to work.

Higher Grounds

Located in Tubli is this coffee shop that’s only been around since April but has won the hearts of many. They’ve got really delicious food with lots of healthy options and innovative styles perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try the cheesecake with a cup of freshly brewed coffee on your next visit!
Hours are 8 AM to 11 PM daily

7t House

7T opened this summer in Argan Village and Bahrain is making plenty of room for this place. The environment is so inviting and bright and makes you feel calm and cozy. Their specialty is tea but also wonderful coffee as well as other drinks you might want to try out like the Tumeric hot chocolate! Everything here is organic and the desserts are constantly changing but all healthy and delicious and very affordable! Try the chocolate brownie with a scoop of vegan coconut ice cream on top!
Open from 7 AM – 11 PM from Saturday to Wednesday and 7 AM – 12 AM on Thursday and Friday.

Oak

Oak opened in April in Riffa and we don’t know how we survived on this island before its arrival. It’s so unique and is one of the BEST places to visit on any occasion! Such a wonderful naturally lit space with plants and oakwood in every direction and offers different seating arrangements to choose from depending on your mood. I mean, have you seen those swing chairs? Come hungry as the menu is so tasty and creative. Try the French Toast or the Lasagna Roll, you won’t regret it!
Open daily from 7 AM until 11 PM on weekdays and until 11:30 PM on weekends.

Nomad

This eatery located in The Courtyard in Seef is just shy of its 3 year anniversary and is a staple hang out spot in the region. From exquisite food to chic environment, Nomad takes the cake on setting the vibe. Grab your laptop or your friends and chill at Nomad for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or for dessert and a cup of Joe. You HAVE to try the Tres Leches Saffron Milk Cake or the Honey Cake while you’re here! The 2-story restaurant means lots of seating areas to choose from. Open daily from 8 AM to 11 PM.

% Arabica Coffee

There are two locations one in The Avenues and one in the Courtyard. They’re both nice locations but the Courtyard is really well done in terms of the overall design and aesthetic. The place is an artisanal coffee shop and they roast their beans every day in-house to ensure freshness. Enjoy the very minimal and modern look and the baked goods which are really appetising. We recommend trying out the brownie, pistachio loaf or turkey baguette with a Spanish latte. % Arabica is found worldwide and is originally based in Japan.
Open from 7 AM – 10 PM on weekdays and 8 AM – 12 AM on weekends.

Dose

The first Dose branch opened in Bahrain two years ago and now they have seven branches around Bahrain, two of them are 24 hours, one of those is a drive-thru! Find them at Zallaq, Saar, Juffair, The Avenues, Water Garden City, Adliya, and Salmabad. They’re very well known in Bahrain and have many different flavors of coffee and tasty treats to choose from. Two of our favorites are the Cold Brew and the Pistachio Latte. Their Saffron Milk Cake can’t be missed and try the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch! The cool thing about Dose is that they use glass jars, mugs, and wooden utensils to help reduce plastic waste.
Open from 7 AM – 12 AM or 8 AM – 12 AM depending on the location.

Roots

An intimate super chic and cozy spot in Hamala where we could spend all day at! It’s a wonderful spot to do some work or meet up with friends over a coffee or lunch. Their grab n go style menu is healthy and most things are made in-house and will fill you up with nutritious goodness. Try the Budha bowl with a cortado or iced espresso latte for a pick me up and an energy booster or a Snickers jar which is both dairy and gluten-free if you’re craving something sweet. For some entertainment, head over to the magazine rack featuring international and national magazines to glance over!
 Sat – Thur 6:30am – 10:00pm
Open from 6:30 AM – 10 PM Saturday through Thursday and 8 AM – 10 PM on Friday.

Plant Cafe

This is Bahrain’s first vegan cafe and is 2 floors high so evidently offers plenty of seating to take over for a work session. It’s got very warm aesthetics, beautiful decor with pastel accents, and is an inviting spot to sit back and relax at. Enjoy a slow-roasted tomato sandwich or try the strawberry cheesecake with an almond milk latte! Open daily from 10 AM – 10 PM and closed on Sundays.

Hopscotch

Opened about a couple years ago, this rustic eatery has a wonderful eclectic and innovative menu that’s an absolute delight to the tastebuds. We love the modern aesthetic and little messages found all over the place. On the menu we got our favorites, the Tahini Double Chocolate Chip cookie and the Brooklyn blackout cake which are to die for! If you’re a little hungry and don’t feel like getting something sweet, order the infamous Brisket Grilled Cheese, which is always a winner in our eyes. The vibe at the open-concept space is like a bright coffee shop mixed with a bike shop and we find that pretty cool.
It’s open from 9 AM to 10:30 PM daily.
