This Bahraini Student Just Came up With a Sustainable Idea for Converting Air Into Water

Yosif Alalawi thesis bahrain generating water from air bahraini talent 2023

Did you know we can generate water from the air in Bahrain?

Yosif Al-Alawi is a student in the Renewable Energy Engineering Master’s Program at the University of Bahrain who presented his thesis about the ability to do just that! His scientific study revealed the possibility of generating water from the air in Bahrain by condensing it underground.

This was his first study in the Renewable Energy Master’s Program offered by the College of Engineering.

Yosif used a simulation method through the “COMS” program, employing an air-to-water generator (AWG) device, which works to push warm, moist air from the surface of the earth into a cooler depth, reaching the dew point where the air condenses and becomes water!

“This study opens the door to future studies with a change in the underground temperature, leading to the generation of water from a self-functioning device in an effective and sustainable manner, many countries where water is scarce, such as some African countries, need such devices.”

Well done! We couldn’t be more proud of Yosif and the other talented minds of Bahrain!

Bahrain’s future sure is bright with all its talented youth!
