AirAsia X has once again postponed the launch of its new Kuala Lumpur–Bahrain–London Gatwick route. The service, which was previously scheduled to begin on 27 August 2026, is now expected to launch in March 2027. The airline said the latest delay is due to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the region. The route had already been postponed once, from 26 June to 27 August 2026, with plans to operate four weekly flights before increasing to daily services from 2 November 2026. Passengers with affected bookings can choose between a full refund to their original payment method or a travel credit valid for 730 days.
AirAsia X also noted that the launch date and operating schedule remain subject to change.
