Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has upgraded the “housing allocation request” service by fully digitizing and automating it, as part of efforts to improve government services and speed up procedures. The new system makes the process faster and more efficient, reducing the completion time from two days to just one working day. Once a housing unit or plot is selected electronically, the system automatically links the details to the applicant’s request and proceeds directly to issuing the electronic contract without paper-based steps.
The ministry said the improvement has also reduced required documents by 50% and approvals by 25%, making the process simpler for citizens. The aim of this upgrade is to enhance service quality, reduce effort, and improve user experience. It also supports Bahrain’s wider digital transformation plans, which focus on modernizing government services and improving efficiency across all sectors.
