Towards a greener Bahrain!
Mohammed Jawad, who is the Acting Director of Projects Management at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs just revealed great news! They’re planning to make Bahrain’s largest botanical garden, which is to get established in Hamad Town. Also, ts total planned area is of 62 thousand SQM!
The garden will consist of 3 different natural reserves, each includes plants from 3 continents which are Asia, Europe, and Africa. Also, all plants that can’t survive in Bahrain’s weather will have designated greenhouses.
Not only that, but the garden will have many services to offer its visitors like malls, restaurants, sports courts, as well as walking and running lanes! What’s more, is they’ll have an elderly garden suitable for the elderly and kids playground from 1 – 12 year old!
It gets better!
On top of all of that, the botanical garden will have an amphitheater, as well as a medical clinic, prayer rooms, and of course toilets! It was also mentioned that it’ll get 383 parks, 308 of them are going to be powered by solar energy!
Jawad confirmed that the lighting, colors, and architecture is inspired by leaves, as the buildings were designed according to the shape of tree leaves! He also added, that this project will allow Bahrain to attract tourists and students looking to study plants.
We can’t wait!
