Bahrain’s E-passport Wins 3 Gold & 7 Silvers at London Design Awards

A milestone!

Bahrain’s e-passport won gold and silvers at the London Design Awards! This international milestone affirms the vision and directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

So, this fancy electronic passport was unveiled in March 2023 by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. And guess what? It scooped up three gold and seven silver awards at The London Design Award, a global competition recognizing top-notch designs across various fields.

This year, 3000 participants from 45 countries battled it out for these titles in categories like architecture, interior design, product design, graphic design, and digital design.

Now, let’s talk about the passport itself. It’s not just a piece of paper; it’s a work of art showcasing Bahrain’s Arabian vibes with an Arabian horse and a falcon. The design dives into Bahrain’s history, especially its pearl trading days, and gives a glimpse of the Kingdom’s future vision for 2030.

Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the NPRA Undersecretary, highlighted the Interior Minister and the tech committee for making sure the e-passport is not only modern but also secure. This digital transformation by the Interior Ministry happened in just nine months, and shoutout to the HID company for presenting it in style.

Congrats Bahrain!
