A First in Arab History! UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi Is Set to Perform a Spacewalk Today

The first Arab spacewalk will be performed by UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi outside the International Space Station today! Sultan Al Neyadi will spend about seven hours outside the ISS on a key maintenance assignment and will be joined by Nasa colleague Stephen Bowen!

260 spacewalks have taken place at the orbiting science laboratory since 1998 and today’s will be held at about 5.15 pm GST (4:15 pm local time). The event will be streamed live on Nasa’s website!

A huge achievement!
