The 7th edition of the Bahrain International Horse Racing Cup kicked off at the Rashid Equestrian & Horse Racing Club, attended by HH Shaikh Khalid & HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman, along with senior officials, diplomats, and a large crowd of racing fans. HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman highlighted the major progress Bahrain’s horse racing sector has achieved, crediting the support of HM King Hamad and the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that Bahrain has strengthened its presence on the global racing stage and become a key destination for international competitions.
He praised the strong organisation of the Cup for the seventh year in a row, its ability to attract top stables and jockeys from around the world, and the impressive performance seen throughout the races. HH Shaikh Isa also commended the dedication of Bahraini teams and partners who contributed to the event’s success. The main Bahrain International Cup was won by Royal Champion, trained by Karl Burke and owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Obaid Al Maktoum, after an exciting finish. Winners across all eight races were honoured, completing a memorable evening that showcased Bahrain’s growing global position in the world of horse racing.
