MOI Intercepts & Destroys Private Drones to Protect Public Safety in Bahrain

Based on an official announcement from the Ministry of Interior in Bahrain, an absolute ban on the use of private unmanned aircraft, or drones, is currently in effect within the Kingdom. This decision follows recent regional developments and heightened security measures linked to concerns of Iranian aggression, with authorities prioritizing the safety and protection of the Kingdom. Officials stressed that the complete ban applies to all types of drone usage, regardless of purpose, including recreational, commercial, and professional activities. The Ministry reported that several private drones have already been downed due to the threats they pose to public security. They explicitly warned that any drone found operating in violation of this immediate ban will be intercepted and destroyed, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible. Residents and citizens are strongly urged to cooperate and comply with the ban, avoiding drone usage to ensure safety and avoid penalties. Furthermore, they are encouraged to immediately report any sightings of private drones flying by calling the emergency hotline at 999. The ban remains in place until further notice as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
