PSA Alert! Beware of These Online Scams Targeting Abaya Purchasers in Bahrain

With Ramadan already here & Eid around the corner, many people are looking for great deals on abayas. Unfortunately, this time of year sees an increase in online scams, as fraudsters take advantage of shoppers looking for tempting discounts. The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption & Economic & Electronic Security in Bahrain has warned about these scams. Fraudsters often set up fake websites or social media accounts to trick shoppers into buying abayas at unrealistically low prices. After paying, customers either don’t receive their items or get something completely different.

How to Protect Yourself:

To avoid being scammed, follow these simple tips:

  1. Check the Credibility: Make sure the website or seller is trustworthy before you buy.
  2. Read Reviews: See what other customers are saying to make sure the seller is reliable.
  3. Avoid Upfront Payments: Don’t pay upfront using untrusted methods. Be cautious if they ask for payment through unsecured channels.
  4. Use Safe Payment Methods: Pay with secure options like credit cards or cash on delivery for more protection.

By staying alert and following these steps, you can shop safely and avoid falling for scams during Ramadan and Eid.
