Update! GCC Citizens No Longer Need a Visa to Travel to UK

Guess what? The UK Government announced that all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will transition to an electronic travel authorization system! This is starting from the beginning of the next year, 2024! So, if you’re a citizen from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, or even Jordan, you’re in luck! No more visa stress for a UK trip!

The government highlighted that the visa exemption will be effective for those planning to travel to Britain after February 22, 2024. Tourists can apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) valid for two years at a cost of £10, equivalent to 5 dinars, for both adults and minors, starting from February 1 of the next year. The application process takes approximately 3 working days to complete.

The UK government stated that the electronic ETA allows entry and a stay of up to 6 months in the UK for tourism, visiting relatives, business purposes, short-term studies, transit visas for passing through UK airports, or temporary work for a duration of 3 months!
