Who’s Ready?
Bahrain International Airport has launched a pilot project to introduce electric vehicles into its taxi services, in cooperation with Fakhro Motors. The project aims to test how suitable electric vehicles are for airport taxi operations, assess their performance and running requirements, and gather feedback from drivers and passengers before deciding whether to expand their use in the future.

The initiative is part of efforts by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications to support more sustainable transport and improve services for travelers. Fakhro Motors will also support the project by providing the necessary electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the airport.
The pilot project will involve two electric vehicles joining the airport’s taxi fleet. The trial will assess their operating efficiency, running costs and charging requirements, while gathering feedback from drivers and passengers.
