5 companies in Bahrain have been listed in Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Listed Companies for 2022! The companies included were from various sectors, with three companies in the banking and financial sector, while the remaining two were from the industry and telecom sectors.

Ahli United Bank (AUB)

Al Ahli Bank secured first place in Bahrain. AUB was formed in May 2000 by a merger of the United Bank of Kuwait PLC and the Al-Ahli Commercial Bank B.S.C. It is one of the largest banks in the Middle East.

Numbers-wise, AUBs market value is $11.5 billion, sales $1.6 billion, net profit $638 million, and assets $41.9 billion.

Aluminum Bahrain (Alba)

The second in Bahrain is Alba, the Middle East’s largest producer of aluminum. Since 1990, Alba has invested more than $589 million into environmental conservation.

Numbers-wise, Alba’s market value is $5.8 billion, sales $4.2 billion, net profit $1.2 billion, and assets $7 billion.

Arab Banking Corporation (Bank ABC)

The third is ABC Bank Group, which provides international wholesale banking services, with a network that spreads across five continents and 15 countries.

According to the numbers, their market value is $982 million, sales $1.5 billion, net profit $128 million, and assets $34.9 billion.

National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) 

Bahrain National Bank came fourth, and the bank was established as Bahrain’s first locally-owned bank. Today, it has a network of 26 branches kingdom, with a branch each in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.

Numbers-wise, NBB’s market value is $3.4 billion, sales $490 million, net profit $146 million, and assets $12 billion.

Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco)

Finally, Batelco came fifth and operates across 12 countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Maldives, Jersey, Diego Garcia, Ascension Island, and the Falkland Islands. Also, the company is listed on the Bahrain Bourse.

According to the numbers, their market value is $2.4 billion, sales $1.1 billion, net profit $198 million, and assets $2.7 billion.
