Get ready Bahrain, we’re about to blast off into space! The head of the IT department at the National Authority for Space Sciences, Hussein Abdel-Latif, just confirmed that Bahrain is set to launch its first satellite made in Bahrain.
That’s right! Our skilled Bahraini hands are bringing artificial intelligence technology to the region by processing data and images from space! Talk about taking things to the next level.
But it’s not just about reaching for the stars! The National Authority for Space Sciences is also making sure to contribute to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In fact, a study conducted by the United Nations Office for External Space Affairs and the European Agency for World Organizations showed that 40% of the goals can’t be achieved without the use of satellites and space applications.
So, what does this mean for us? It means we need to keep pushing forward with unified strategic planning among government agencies, especially in the IT field. That’s to meet global challenges and bring Bahrain to the level of developed nations, according to Hussein Abdel-Latif. So, the National Space Sciences Authority is here to lead the charge!
