Bahrain Plans to Launch Its First Satellite Into Space on Tuesday

National Space Science Agency has announced that Bahrain is moving forward in the field of space sciences. NSSA CEO, Dr. Mohammed Al Aseeri confirmed that The Kingdom of Bahrain is launching it’s first satellite in space on Tuesday, the 21st of December! Nano-satellite, Light-1 is a joint Bahraini-Emirati satellite will be launched on a SpaceX vehicle and will showcase the skill and exceptional talent of Bahraini youth who have contributed to building it.

The mission of the satellite is to study terrestrial gamma rays from thunderstorms, as per Dr. Mohammed Al Aseeri. This mission will provide important information and data for the aviation sector, and enhance scientific research, especially for regions in the Middle East.
