Bahrain Updates Maternity Fee for Visitors and Here Are the Details

New Maternity Fees for Visitors and Non-Residents in Public Hospitals Starting July 1, 2025. Beginning July 1, 2025, new maternity service fees will be implemented for visitors and non-residents receiving care in public hospitals.

  • Normal delivery will be charged at BD 425
  • Cesarean delivery will be charged at BD 1,025

The adjustment reflects the actual cost of care, including expenses related to medical staff, supplies, and hospital services. Health authorities stated that the new fees are part of efforts to ensure the provision of high-quality and sustainable healthcare services. Importantly, individuals who reside in Bahrain or work in the government sector will not be affected by the new charges and will continue to receive maternity care without paying the revised fees.

This change marks a significant price increase compared to previous public hospital rates for maternity services.
