Big news from the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) – they’ve just rolled out Decision No. (3) of 2023, and it’s all about engineering licenses for government-employed engineers. So here’s the deal: if you’re an engineer working for a government entity and you fall under the regulations of Law No. (51) of 2014.
According to this new decision, the CSB is cracking down on unlicensed engineering work. They want government agencies to team up with the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP) to get the initial approval for those practice licenses. No license, no engineering tasks, simple as that. They’re really serious about making sure everyone is on the right side of the law.
But here’s the good part – the CSB knows that employees’ rights are important. They’re making it clear that if your government agency doesn’t submit the license application to the CRPEP, it shouldn’t affect your chances of promotion or moving up the career ladder. So no need to worry about your future prospects.
The bottom line is that the CSB wants to make sure all the engineers working for the government are properly licensed and following the rules. They’re aiming to maintain professional standards and protect both the employees and the government’s interests. So if you’re in the engineering field, it’s time to get that license and stay compliant.
Keep in mind that Article 1 of the decision states that the CSB’s instructions regarding engineering licenses for government-employed engineers are now in effect. So, make sure you’re up to date with the latest requirements!
Stay licensed and keep those engineering skills in check!
