Ramadan is getting cooler!
Ready to adjust your fasting schedule? According to Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Association, Ramadan will be a little different in the coming years. With Ramadan 1445 Hijri starting on March 11, 2024, we can expect changes in the day and the fasting period!
As the month of Ramadan moves closer to 22 December, the days will become shorter, and the fasting period will decrease. What’s more, the days will get longer again and so does your fasting period. Al-Jarwan also explained that the midpoint of Ramadan affects the length of the daytime hours, with Ramadan closer to June 21 having the longest daytime hours in the northern hemisphere, and Ramadan closer to December 22 having the shortest.
So mark your calendars and prepare for a different kind of Ramadan experience in the coming years. But remember, the essence of Ramadan remains the same, no matter what time of year it falls. Happy fasting, everyone!
Get ready to adjust your fasting schedule, folks!
