Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the representative of the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, just gave a shoutout to the amazing athletes of Bahrain who rocked the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. He said their sporting achievements really show the high spirits and patriotism of Bahraini sportspeople.

Sheikh Nasser welcomed the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games champions and the Olympic Committee crew. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and several dignitaries, officials, sports federation presidents and representatives, sponsors, and supporters.

Sheikh Nasser made sure to pass on the greetings and congrats from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He was super impressed with Bahrain’s performance, ranking ninth in Asia and first among Arab countries. And get this—they snagged 12 gold medals, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes! Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa added, “His Majesty the King was keen to follow our national teams during the tournament despite the time difference. We have witnessed from you the fighting spirit, determination, and perseverance that our champions possess, expressing our great appreciation for the achievers who stood on the podium and raised the name of the Kingdom high in athletics, weightlifting, wrestling, handball, and jiu-jitsu, reflecting the growing development of Bahraini sports and proving the true metal of Bahraini athletes. We also commend the sacrifices and contributions of the technical and administrative staff! Who are essential partners in achieving this accomplishment.”
