Bahrain TV organized a national campaign called “Day of Solidarity with Our People in Gaza… We Are with You”! In partnership with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) and the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza.
The telethon was held under the guidance of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who is the Honorary President of RHF. The event was organized with the support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Who serves as HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
The campaign received generous donations, including $8.5 million from HM King Hamad. And BD 500,000 from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed deep gratitude to HM the King for his humanitarian initiatives towards the Palestinians. He emphasized Bahrain’s unwavering support for the just Palestinian cause and the King’s strong affection for the Palestinian people.
HH Shaikh Nasser praised the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its substantial support to the RHF and the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza. He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to standing with the Palestinians and easing the suffering of the victims’ families. This commitment is rooted in the teachings of Islamic religions, Arab traditions, and the strong Bahraini-Palestinian relations.
HH Shaikh Nasser emphasized that the national campaign reflects Bahrain’s steadfast stance towards friendly nations during times of crisis and humanitarian challenges. He called on all institutions, companies, citizens, and residents to contribute to this noble humanitarian campaign and extend a helping hand to alleviate the suffering of their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
HH Shaikh Nasser himself made a donation of BD 100,000, leading by example and responding to HM the King’s directives.
Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, Secretary-General of RHF and CEO of the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, commended HM the King’s directives to provide relief aid to the Palestinians. He acknowledged the government’s support, which has been instrumental in the success of the national campaign.
Dr. Al Sayed paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser for establishing the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinians in Gaza. This initiative aims to unify national efforts in supporting the Palestinians amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the challenging humanitarian conditions they face.
During the telethon, more than $16 million was collected, and Dr. Al Sayed expressed gratitude to all donors. He assured that preparations are underway to deliver the humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinians as soon as possible. He also mentioned that donations can still be made through the official channels announced by the RHF.
Taha Abdul Qader, the Palestinian Ambassador to Bahrain, highly appreciated HM the King’s directives to support the Palestinian people in various circumstances. He commended Bahrain’s firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. President Mahmood Abbas and the Palestinian leadership also expressed their gratitude for HM the King’s directives and the solidarity shown by the Bahraini people.
The telethon featured several national figures, scholars, intellectuals, and businessmen who stressed the importance of contributing to the national campaign and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. The event aimed to bring together individuals from various sectors to support this noble cause.
