Commemorative stamps have been issued in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad to mark the historical achievement of the Royal Guard team conquering Mount Everest.
The Bahrain Everest Team, led by Major Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is made up of Bahrain’s Royal Guard. They had also scaled Lobuche, a mountain in Nepal last September before conquering the world’s tallest mountain. The team of 16 was the first team to scale the new height of Everest at a dizzying 8,848.86 meters! And it is nearly a meter taller this time around.
Bahrain Post issued the stamp which captures the moment the team reached its peak and comes as part of their efforts to commemorate important Bahraini achievements and historic moments.
The mountaineering team carried out humanitarian and charitable work while in Nepal, including the distribution of foodstuff to the local people, which has been widely appreciated by the local communities and officials.
The Nepalese Government received members of the Bahraini team, and expressed appreciation for its humanitarian work, and has named a mountain summit in Manaslu as “Royal Bahrain Peak”
The stamp is available at all Bahrain Post branches, with 12 stamps for BD6 and the commemorative card for BD1.

لحظة فخر: فريق إيفرست البحرين يحصل على طابع تذكاري

طوابع تذكارية أصدرت حسب توجيهات جلالة الملك حمد بمناسبة الإنجاز التاريخي لفريق الحرس الملكي في تسلق قمة جبل إيفرست.
يتكون فريق البحرين ايفرست بقيادة الرائد الشيخ محمد بن حمد آل خليفة من الحرس الملكي البحريني و تسلقوا جبل لوبوتشي في نيبال في سبتمبر الماضي قبل أن يتسلقوا أعلى جبل في العالم. كان الفريق المكون من 16 فريقًا أول فريق يتسلق الارتفاع الجديد لإيفرست على ارتفاع مذهل يبلغ 8848.86 متر!
أصدر بريد البحرين الطابع الذي يجسد لحظة وصول الفريق إلى القمة ويأتي في إطار جهودهم لإحياء ذكرى الإنجازات البحرينية الهامة واللحظات التاريخية.
قام فريق تسلق الجبال بأعمال إنسانية وخيرية أثناء تواجده في النيبال، بما في ذلك توزيع المواد الغذائية على السكان المحليين، وهو ما نال تقديرًا واسعًا من قبل المجتمعات المحلية والمسؤولين نفسهم.
استقبلت الحكومة النيبالية أعضاء من الفريق البحريني، وأعربت عن تقديرها لعملها الإنساني، وسميت قمة جبلية في ماناسلو باسم “قمة البحرين الملكية”.
