Bahrain’s Interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, announced new changes in Decision No. 119 of 2024, which update visa service fees. The fee for converting a visit visa to a work visa has increased significantly from BD 60 to BD 250.
Two new fees were introduced for changing a visit visa to a joining visa, or a joining visa to a work visa. The conversion fee for both is now BD 250 dinars. This means the cost of converting a visit visa has risen by more than 400%. The new fees started on December 19, 2024 and are now in effect.
The new visa fees are now in effect, making significant changes to Bahrain’s visa process.
