Hussain Asghar Is The 1st Bahraini To Compete In An International Jockey Race In France

Get ready to cheer, Bahrain! Hussain Asghar, trained at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), is set to make history as the first Bahraini jockey invited to an international race. He’ll compete in the ‘Prix Together for Racing International – European Association of Racing Schools Final’ at Deauville Racecourse in Normandy, France, on Saturday, July 6th.

Hussain, a 21-year-old talent from Manama, Bahrain, will race against fifteen other young jockeys from around the globe! Including the USA, UK, Germany, and South Korea. This international event marks the 10th edition of the competition. Spotlighting the most promising young riders under 25 who have graduated from racing schools and have between 10 to 15 public race wins.

Nominated by REHC for his exceptional progress since starting his jockey journey in 2021. Hussain has quickly risen as one of Bahrain’s most talented jockeys. With nearly 100 rides under his belt, including the prestigious Al Methaq Mile, and nine career wins.

Hussain expressed his excitement, saying, “I am incredibly excited and honored to be the first Bahraini jockey invited to compete in this prestigious event at Deauville. It is a dream come true for me and a significant milestone in my career. I am grateful to the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club for their unwavering support and for believing in my potential.

“To represent Bahrain on the international stage is a privilege, and I am looking forward to showcasing the talent and hard work of Bahraini jockeys. This opportunity motivates me to continue striving for excellence and making my country proud.”
