It’s happening
The construction of the Mars Science City in Dubai is all set to start next year in Dubai’s desert, and it’s already feeling like a wonder. This’ll be the world’s largest simulation city, and the plan is for it to be completed and open its doors by 2024. The whole project, which was announced in 2017, is part of the Mars 2117 initiative – the aim is to build a city on Mars by the year 2117… In case that puts into perspective how futuristic (literally) this feels.
The whole thing will be built in Dubai’s Academic City, and. with the probability of occupying over 170k square meters, it’s said to be bigger than 24 football pitches!! The city itself will basically serve as a simulation of the environment on Red Planet, and will give scientists all over the world the opportunity to carry out Mars-related research within.
There’s many amazing factors to consider here, one of which is how the city is backed by martian architecture. The architects who designed it followed the idea of pressurized biodomes filled with oxygen, which would be joined together to create villages and at some point, cities. The objective for the architects was to recreate Mars’ inhabitable environment, habitable – and this city could be the way to go!

في دبي: 51 مليون دينار بحريني تبني لك ‘مدينة المريخ العلمية’
بناء مدينة المريخ العلمية في دبي جاهز للبدء في العام القادم، وهو بالفعل يشعر وكأنه عجب. كما ستكون هذه أكبر مدينة محاكاة في العالم. والخطة هي أن تكتمل وتفتح أبوابها بحلول عام 2024. والمشروع بأكمله، الذي أعلن في عام 2017، هو جزء من مبادرة مارس 2117 – الهدف هو بناء مدينة على المريخ بحلول عام 2117. في حال وضع هذا في المنظور كيف سيكون المستقبل.
