Bahrain Is Set to Launch Its First International Helicopter Route to Dammam

Bahrain is set to introduce its first international helicopter service connecting the Kingdom to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The announcement comes as part of the National Aviation Strategy 2026–2027, which aims to develop Bahrain’s civil aviation sector and make travel faster and more convenient. The new helicopter route will complement upgrades at Bahrain International Airport, transforming it into a regional and global aviation hub. The strategy also plans to expand Bahrain’s flight destinations from 66 to 100 by 2030, boosting tourism, trade, and economic growth. Officials emphasized that the plan focuses on safety, high-quality services, sustainability, and developing local talent, ensuring Bahrain remains a leading hub for air travel in the region.
