Exciting news for sports fans in Bahrain as the government announces its plan to build a state-of-the-art Sports City in Sakhir, set to be completed by the end of 2025. With a budget of BD100.8m, the project will include a stadium that can hold up to 50,000 spectators, training fields, an athletics field, parking lots, a media center, and much more!
Funding for the project will come from a partnership between the state general budget allocations for 2023 and 2024, as well as the Gulf Development Program. The Sports City is expected to be a hub for the youth and sports sector, providing an environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
