Bahrain has officially kicked off its 2025–2026 cruise season with the arrival of the first cruise ship this morning, bringing in over 5,000 visitors from around the world. The arrival marks an exciting start to a new season that highlights the continued growth of Bahrain’s tourism sector. The cruise season is a joint effort between the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, in coordination with APM Terminals, the operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port. Together, they’ve created a smooth and welcoming experience for visitors from the moment they arrive to the time they explore the island.
This growing cruise tourism sector plays a key role in supporting the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, which focuses on boosting tourism, supporting local businesses, and enhancing Bahrain’s economy. The initiative also strengthens Bahrain’s position as a leading maritime destination in the region, attracting travelers eager to experience the Kingdom’s culture, hospitality, and charm. With more ships expected in the coming months, Bahrain’s cruise season is set to bring even more visitors, opportunities, and excitement to the island.
