Bahraini photographer Mustafa AbdulHadi has won first place in the “My Planet – Photo Series” category at the 2025 Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest, one of the leading global competitions for young photojournalists. The award ceremony took place at the State Historical Museum in Moscow’s Red Square, where the winning works are currently on display at the Resurrection Gate from 19 November to 1 December 2025. Contest curator Oksana Oleinik highlighted the significance of hosting the exhibition in such an iconic location, noting that it reflects the contest’s prestige and its mission to support emerging visual storytellers.
This year’s competition received nearly 2,000 submissions from 593 photographers across 40 countries, with finalists representing 15 nations. After Moscow, the exhibition will travel internationally, with planned stops in Ethiopia, Serbia, Argentina, and more.
A proud moment for Bahrain on the global photography stage.
