Bapco’s CEO Shares Updates on the Recent Oil Leakage in Sitra

Bapco CEO Abdulrahman Jawahery recently provided an update on the oil tank leak in Sitra, which has been causing a strong odor across Bahrain.

A meeting of the National Civil Emergency Committee, chaired by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, addressed the issue. Representatives from relevant ministries, authorities, and Bapco Refinery were present.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan received a briefing on the incident and the ongoing response. He was informed about the coordinated efforts of Bapco’s emergency team, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, and other authorities to secure the leak site and manage the situation according to safety protocols.

The committee reviewed potential scenarios and discussed effective response plans. They emphasized their commitment to following up on developments and public concerns regarding the gas odors.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan reminded the public that information and instructions on such incidents are available on the National Civil Protection Platform. He stressed the importance of relying on verified information from official sources. Such as the National Communication Centre, which is working with authorities to keep the public informed as the situation unfolds.
