The Ministry of Works has officially begun a major road development project in Salmaniya aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and enhancing road safety in one of Bahrain’s busiest areas. The project focuses on Road 2904 in Block 329, located near Salmaniya Medical Complex and Arabian Gulf University. Stretching around 600 metres, the road connects Salmaniya Road in the north to King Abdulaziz Road in the south. According to the Ministry, the development is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade Bahrain’s road network and improve traffic movement in key locations across the Kingdom. The project is expected to help organise vehicle movement, reduce random and illegal parking, and create a smoother commuting experience for both drivers and pedestrians.
The works will include rebuilding road infrastructure, relocating and protecting underground services, installing a new drainage network, adding pedestrian walkways, reorganising parking spaces, and placing updated traffic signs and road markings throughout the area. Officials also urged motorists to follow all traffic signs and safety instructions around the construction site to help maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety during the development period.
