Calo, a company from Bahrain has launched in the UK. It made this move by buying two well known London food brands—Fresh Fitness Food and Detox Kitchen. Calo is known for delivering healthy, ready to eat meals on the same day. In the UK, it now delivers across the country using DPD and has its own delivery team in London. Meal plans start at £11 per day and includes vegetarian, high protein and wellness focused options.
The company recently raised $50 million in a Series B funding round to support its growth. Calo’s UK General Manager, Caspar Rose, called the brand “the Nike of food,” showing its big global ambitions.
