In Discussion: Bahrain Proposes for Companies With 50+ Employees to Train Bahraini Graduates

Public transport in Bahrain is reaching new heights, with bus ridership hitting a massive 12.1 million trips last year alone. Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, confirmed that the upcoming Bahrain Metro is officially moving forward, with the ministry currently preparing the tracks for Phase 1. This new electric train system is designed to be a game-changer for the Kingdom, as it will be fully integrated with existing bus networks and future cycling paths to create a seamless travel experience. The project aims to connect the airport with major commercial, residential, and educational hubs, specifically targeting a reduction in traffic congestion during peak hours. While the final cost is still being determined due to ongoing design work and market fluctuations, the project will be developed in partnership with the private sector. With ridership growing steadily every year since 2023, the government is committed to expanding this network further to provide a modern, sustainable, and efficient way for citizens, residents, and visitors to get around.
