Khalifa Bin Salman Port has seen a strong recovery in its cargo activity during May and June 2026 after disruptions affected operations earlier in the year. The port handled 112,600 tonnes of general cargo in June 2026, marking its highest monthly volume in two years. This followed a strong performance in May, when the port handled 105,500 tonnes, bringing the total cargo volume for the two months to around 218,200 tonnes.
The figures show a significant recovery, with cargo volumes in May and June increasing by 198% compared to the same period in 2025. The rise reflects the port’s ability to quickly restore operations and return cargo movement to strong levels after the challenges faced earlier this year.
The figures highlight the port’s quick recovery and its continued role in supporting Bahrain’s trade and logistics sector.
