The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Film Festival is set to become its most international yet, after receiving 894 film submissions from 55 countries. Festival Artistic Director Ammar Zainal said this year’s competition has opened to international entries for the first time, marking a major milestone for the festival. Alongside the competition, the event will feature workshops, seminars, and special programmes designed to support and develop Bahraini filmmakers.
The festival is also expected to welcome well-known actors, filmmakers, and industry professionals from Bahrain and abroad. Organisers say the international expansion aims to strengthen Bahrain’s film industry, encourage collaboration with global talent, and create more opportunities for local filmmakers to showcase their work on the world stage.
With its first international competition, the festival is set to bring together filmmakers from around the world while giving Bahraini talent a bigger platform to grow and shine!
