Bahrain’s digital payments sector continues to grow and BenefitPay is leading the way. In 2025, BENEFIT reinforced its position as a key player in electronic payments and fintech, reflecting strong confidence from users and banks while supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals. The company’s Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS), which includes Fawri, Fawri+, and Fawateer services across banking platforms and the BenefitPay app, processed an impressive 494 million transactions during the year. That marks a 10.7% increase compared to 2024. The total transaction value also rose to BD 37.5 billion, up 12.6% year-on-year. The BenefitPay app played a major role in this growth, handling 466 million transactions worth BD 10.2 billion. Fawri+ services saw particularly strong performance, reaching 467.9 million transactions valued at BD 9.7 billion, with most of these completed through the app.
Fawri transactions reached 14.3 million, totaling BD 26.4 billion, while Fawateer transactions amounted to 11.8 million. Although Fawateer volumes dipped slightly, their total value jumped by more than 20% to BD 1.4 billion, showing stronger transaction amounts overall. Beyond payments, BENEFIT’s digital services also expanded significantly. Its eKYC platform recorded 1.1 million verification processes, reflecting strong adoption, while the Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau issued over 541,000 credit reports in 2025. The year also saw several new launches and enhancements. BENEFIT introduced Business Accounts for single-owner merchants and rolled out the Hadeya (E-gift) feature, which earned the Bahrain Digital Content Award. The company increased the Fawri+ daily transfer limit to BD 3,000 and expanded Fawri settlement services to weekends and public holidays. It also supported the Labour Market Regulatory Authority in developing the Wage Protection System.
