The Bahraini parliament has approved a proposal to ban delivery bikes from using main roads. The decision comes despite the fact that the proposal was previously rejected by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence, and National Security. The Ministry of Interior has raised concerns about the plan. Officials said the ban would not improve traffic flow and would be difficult to implement because of the current road network in Bahrain. They also warned that it could increase congestion on secondary roads. Another concern is that delivery riders might switch to using cars, which could add more vehicles to the roads and affect overall traffic conditions. Residents and drivers are advised to stay informed and follow official updates regarding the new rules.
