Traffic Update!
The Northern Municipal Council has unanimously approved a proposal by council member Mohammed Saad Al-Dosari to install security and speed-monitoring cameras along Janabiya Road (Streets 91–92–93) leading to Salman City.
This decision came after several complaints from residents and road users about the rising number of speeding incidents in the area. Al-Dosari explained that Janabiya Road has become increasingly dangerous, especially with drivers running red lights and reckless speeding, leading to frequent accidents.
One of the main issues, he noted, is the limited presence of traffic police patrols, which makes it difficult to monitor violations consistently. Installing cameras would serve as an extra layer of monitoring, ensuring that traffic rules are followed even when patrols are not present.
The new system is expected to improve driver behavior, reduce repeated violations, and cut down on the number of accidents. Al-Dosari stressed that the aim is not only to penalize violators but also to protect lives, safeguard property, and ensure smoother traffic flow.
He also highlighted that with the ongoing urban expansion and increasing population density around Salman City, effective traffic management has become more important than ever. The council’s unanimous approval of this proposal reflects how critical road safety has become for the community.
