Al-Ahli SC emerged victorious from the King’s Football Cup final, defeating Muharraq SC 4-2 on penalties after a thrilling 1-1 draw. The prestigious match was held to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne.
In a closely contested match, neither side could find a decisive edge during regulation time or extra time. However, Al-Ahli kept their composure in the penalty shootout, securing a well-deserved victory.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, crowned the champions. He congratulated Al-Ahli, led by Khalid Kanoo, on their outstanding performance throughout the tournament. He praised their dedication and skill, attributing their win to their consistent efforts.
While commending both teams’ sportsmanship, His Highness also lauded the runners-up, Muharraq SC, for their commendable performance in the final. He wished them success in future competitions.
